Message to all our students, clients, volunteers and friends from Europe and around the world
We are feeling devastated at the recent events and have spoken to many people with different backgrounds who expressed their views – Russians, Ukranians, some who have fled Ukraine, some are relatives waiting to rejoin their families in the UK. People are holding different views of events, sometimes opposite to media, and, we listen and respect all opinions but we will not tolerate hate or aggression.
What we do
RCA focusses on working with the Russian ethnic minorities in the UK, they have been suffering disproportionately acute loneliness and have been pushed into mental, physical, emotional crisis as a result of the pandemic.
As the outcomes of Brexit, we affirm that all our members will always stand for inclusiveness, equality, diversity and respect. We are proud to work and live alongside you and you will always be welcome here.
Drop-in CentreThe Association’s purpose is to provide services and support to the Russian-speaking refugees and immigrant community in London and Greater London. Members of this community have come from Russia, Ukraine, Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia, Belarus, Kazachstan, Armenia, and Azerbaijan following the break up of the Soviet Union. Our projects are aimed at disadvantaged community of Russian speakers who arrived from countries of former Soviet Union and now live in London and UK. Most of these people don’t have fluency in English language, feel isolated and lacking support in sharing their family problems.
Russian speakers are an invisible minority. As they are white they are not easily identifiable as needing support in the same way as other ethnic minorities. This doesn’t mean that they don’t face the same problems or discrimination.
RCA’s support is highly valued by our customers during the COVID-19.
